Zinedine Zidane was not satisfied by the result after the game at Stamford Bridge. Unfortunately to Real Madrid fans, the team could not qualify for the finals of Champions League.
Every player was fit
Journalists asked him about the line-up. It seems that some of the players were not fit because they could not play properly. For instance, Ferland Mendy was substituted by 65th minute and even Ramos could not react properly to the goals. It’s believed that Ramos and Mendy were not fit for the game but Zidane risked it all. Zinedine admitted that all the players on the pitch were ready. He said that if the player is mentioned in the line-up, it means that he is fit for the game.
Chelsea was better
Zidane said that Chelsea was better and he is congratulating Tuchel for reaching the Champions League final. Keep in mind that Real Madrid was in need of a goal because they conceded at home stadium. Zidane’s team tried everything to score a goal in the first half but the goalkeeper of Chelsea had a perfect game. Karim Benzema’s two shots were taken by Mendy and everyone was amazed by the perfect play of the goalkeeper. The Real Madrid players were very tired in the second half and could not compete with the youngsters of Chelsea. Even Pulisic was unstoppable after he stepped on to the pitch.
Three defenders strategy
Real Madrid played with three defenders and it was a strange decision from Zidane. Spanish journalists criticized French coach for playing with this strategy. Keep in mind that Real Madrid has not played with three main defenders for the last few months and out of blue sky, Zidane decided to change everything in the last game before the final of Champions League. Marca’s experts were not happy and said that Zidane has to learn from this big mistake.
